How to get the best deals on Mac Software

If you’re not looking to spend an arm and a leg on software then you need to know where the discounts live. It’s fairly easy to find good deals on software if you know where to look. If you’re looking to get a, bunch as in a bundle, of great software at a low price there are two main options: MacHeist and MacBundleBox.  Both are short time offers that don’t last long, but when they are around, they provide a great chance to get a huge discount on Mac software.

If you are looking for a discount on other software there are still some great choices.  From the creators of MacBundleBox is MacDailyBox.  This site provides around a 50% savings on a different mac application per day.  So if you know what you’re looking for, you might have to wait a while to get the discount you want.

Another site similar to MacDailyBox is MacUpdate Promo. They also provide around a 50% savings for mac software and their product changes daily.

Another daily software promotional site is macZot.  They provide deals on software that are around 50%.

If you aren’t into the daily discounts on random software then you still have options.  MacUpdate, a popular Mac OsX software repository, also provides a discount store.  The savings range from 15%-25% off on some really great software.  Their software offerings also change often so keep it bookmarked.

Another way to save money on software is the newly launched One Finger Discount.  They are a group of developers who banded together to save you 20% off on software.  Since it is the developers who post up there it might take a while to find the software you’re looking for.  They really need a better front-end, but regardless, the coupon code is “OneFingerDiscount” so if you’re buying software just try the discount code.

If you’re looking to browse applications for the mac, which there isn’t an AppStore for yet, there are a few great sites: MacUpdate, iUseThis, and of course Apple’s download site.  There is also software for browsing applications called Bodega.  It’s pretty good, but doesn’t provide discounts very often.

So before you go and make your next purchase, check out some of these places to get some savings.  There’s nothing like buyers remorse when you see a deal for something you already bought.  If you have any suggestions for other places to get Mac software please leave them in the comments below.
